OMG! Katy just ROCKS! And she threw up a fab new challenge on the team bloggie! Go look! Scrap with the Kissed Studio template, win some awesome prizes!!!!
Here's mine! Isn't this such a fun template design? :) Okay have fun girlees! :)
If so, then Joshua has made the perfect snack for you all. :) Isn't he just a cutie? He's always doing stuff like this and bringing to me and then we sit and play. Usually I have a box full of fun vintage stuff I find sitting in my living room. And so he found these old wooden dishes made in the Philippines. Remember these? Like I can remember going to my parents friend's house for dinner and seeing these wooden dishes filled with peanuts and mints and things. And now you can practically find them anywhere. Josh seems to think they make great play snack dishes and trays. I am beginning to think they do too. Kinda vintage and sweet right?
Okay so back to our quilts. I finally finished my flowers and yoyo's. I think I need faux bifocals so I really feel like the little old lady sewing in the chair while her husband sits and watches baseball or movies on the tube at night. These were the fun part. Just sitting, relaxing, and going nuts with how to embellish these. Fun to choose tons of different buttons, stitches, colors, fabrics, etc. I think I'm just now starting to visualize what I want my sewing projects to look like before I start them. That is good news. It's hard not knowing where to go on something and then doing it and hating it later. So, I'm tickled with how these turned out. I think Chayce was eyeing these..maybe for a cute top for her? Or on a pillow? Something. She is good at eyeing things she likes.
Can I say for the record that church rummage sales just rock? Must be all those holy people donating fun vintage finds and being so generous. I don't know but I usually find awesome things at them. And I found these. I love this pillow. Funky wild green velvet..Hmm...maybe add some cute new tassels? Might look cute on Chayce's bed. And then lo and behold, I didn't even look on the bottom of these until I got home. Sterling silver. Pretty and so sweet. I think the water pitcher will make a great vase for summer flowers? Hmm..nice excuse to go buy bouquets at the Farmers Market. :) My mom saw these and told me to keep them for sure. So, I will. Everyone needs a nice sterling vase full of flowers in their living room right?
Okay hope you all had a fun NSD day! :) I barely had time to shop around but managed to pick these up. Cute stuff here and here and today, OMG, for all you mommies with baby pirates...go get these!!!!! If you look at Mindy's blog, there's even a discount. Holy moly..these are the cuuuutest little sweet pirates! Josh was smiling at these this morning. Can't wait to make some cute pirate pages with my baby pirate. Lanne, aren't these cute? :) Til then, happy day to you all!
jenn

Muah!
Oh my word! 85 degrees and holding! What super weather we have finally and I'm so excited to be out enjoying it. Seriously I love seeing the kids come inside at 8pm...right at bedtime..from playing and riding bikes outside all day. Hope you all are enjoying some sunshine wherever you are. Just wanted to share my favorite finds from this weekends outings. My mom and I headed out early Saturday morning to go looking for some fun stuff. And I found these in a box. Old Pyrex Dishes with lids. These are the glass ones with glass lids. And in aqua and one in red. Score! Practically for pennies, I am excited to start using and collecting these cuties and slowly get rid of the plastic stuff. I mean how much cuter are these compared to Rubbermaid? I know some of them are more practical but these are just too cute.

And then! I overhauled this old sewing table I had. I've had this for awhile now and it was all white. So it got the old dirty bathwater treatment. I think this table was like $3 a few years ago at an old barn sale. Just goes to show ya what magic paint can do. :) And I am tickled to have it showing off more character. :)
So do you like the new bloggie look? Shawn just rocks I tell ya! These are too much fun with the new backgrounds!! So, the quilt is coming along! I actually got two borders done. I need to make sure it all looks even to beth before I do the last border. So the first border is persimmon corduroy. YUM! Next is the orange/brown jellybean fabric and the last will be the chocolate corduroy. I think that will be sweet looking. I have go to finish all my embellies too! But see this basket? I decided to make it my sewing basket since my last one was just a Rubbermaid container. NOT CUTE! LOL So looks pretty cute ya think? Helps the inspiration move along.

And then, I ordered a TON of goodies from Josh' Scolastic Book flyer he gets from school! I love these. I always order them for the kids. But check out how cute! Knitting boards for boys!!! Trucks, planes, trains, etc. Aren't these awesome? Josh and Matt love these. And also a few GREAT Pirate books! Non scary ones too! We read these last night in bed. Just the cutest pirate books. :)
K off to have some fun with the kiddies!
xoxo
Just wanted to quickly share with you all that there is TONS of new GOODIES at the Shoppe! :) Just in time for Mommies Day! :) Click here to see all the new stuff and on sale for a limited time. :)
K wishing you a fabulous day! I'll be back with more craft pics soon! :)
Jenn
...And here's too many pictures to look at. I just love how this turned out!!!! The desk and chair got a sweet milky/stainey paint bath and now have a warm feel rather than that cold feel from bleach white. Seriously, I redid my old trunk, table and now desk/chair and I am done with all white and pink too! LOL My shabby chic days are kinda over and I'm moving over into a french/rustic/retro/hip/chic kinda feel? Hard to say which design class this falls into. But I love it! This bulletin board is AWESOME! I love sitting down and looking up at things that inspire me. Plus it helps to get some work done knowing what direction I'm going in. :) I was trying to come up with some fun bulletin board tack ideas. I will be making some with buttons for sure. But I remembered I had all these old vintage floral brooches sitting in a box. So I brought those out and am using them for the tacks. Along with some sewing pins too. Just too much fun! So here's some pics to share. Have a fabulous day!:)

So, since it's Friday, I have to succumb you all to looking at cute little tball pictures. LOL I totally loved seeing Chayce play tball because all the kids are so little and so cute. So Josh had his first game the other day. Oh my! All of us mommies were going "Ooooh" and "Ahhhh" and "Aren't they so cute?" and you get the picture. The little players are absolutely adorable! I think the daddies were in heaven seeing their little men out there playing. I know mine was. Super cute!
K have some fun new stuff for the quilt...will share pics later. Til then, happy tball'in! :)
xoxoxo
I'm totally stuck, frazzled, confused..all the above. Quilting is so much fun as is paper scrap booking. But I get STUCK when it comes to what to put and where to put it. Literally possibilities are endless. This embellishing habit can go on and on and on and on and never end. So my new dilemma...what to border this quilt with...what to put on it..stitches, etc? And where is it going? I'm sure several quilt and sewing fanatics can make fun of this reasoning I have. Beth says that this is pretty common with quilters. They get stuck with the extra details. SO, I made a nice kid-less trip to the fabric store after the girls got together. Grabbed some cute stuff to border, new stitching thread and tons of the cutest buttons. And this weekend, hopefully I can relax and start to decide where everything will go. I do have an extra week before we get together again so I have some time to think on this! Whew.
Also, HUGE CHANGES going on at SMJ Designs. This fabulous guy in London is moving my site to a new fast awesome server. So if you need some SMJ Goods, shoot me an email or try waiting maybe a day or two. Trust me, you'll love the difference. But again so sorry that it's not up yet. I know these things take time and rest assured it'll be worth it. :)
OKay til then, here's some pics to share. Isn't this little princess cute? Sash sewed this up so quickly! I showed my mom and I think my mom will be making some cute tops like this for Chayce. Soooo totally cute! I think Sash should start up a boutique or something. I know I can't sew like this yet..hopefully soon...Eva you totally inspire me girl with your adorable outfits! I think sewing will become my new 'hobby' away from my work hobby...digital scrapbooking. So I'm kinda excited about that. and excited that the fabrics out there are pretty awesome. Oh and I finished my desk chair. SO CUTE! Just have to do the bulletin board and I'll show ya'll how cute this office project turned out.
Til then..wishing you all a creative day! And I leave you with....the Joshua Tree. He made this in class..Pretty neato if you ask me.
Cheers!
And I'm so glad the weekend's almost here! Whew! Kinda need a little breather. :) Anyways, headed out early to get some goodies for craftin, some sewin', quiltin' and other goodies to play with. So should be a long day. But I had to share these pictures of a fabulous TOTALLY VINTAGE basket I found at a barn sale. COOL! Just love it. Sometimes, all I have to do is just look at something like this...vintage..unique...colorful..and my brain can start thinking of some funky ideas for anything. Soooo, here I leave you with one funktified basket! :) Love it! Happy Friday to you all!
...And I never could...but I can now! :) Ty to my dear friend who is showing me things I never really knew. Well my sweet mother tried to teach me how when I was younger but of course I was so impatient that it didn't really work out. But this quilt we're working on is turning out so cute. And now...I want to embellish the world out of it. So I am setting things around, made a dozen yo-yo's last night and am trying to figure out what else I want to do to mine. I definitely want to show off some stitching. But my huge desire to embellish this quilt is now turning into an obsession. The possibilities are endless and well it's just SO CUTE!

Today I had to stop and get more fabric from Beth. And she gave me this...for fixin' up her blog. SO CUTE! I don't even have a pin cushion. But a cupcake one? Cute! I don't even really have a sewing basket. Guess I'll be making one of those for myself soon. Anyways, isn't this adorable? She said it was a super easy and fun craft project. :)
Smiles,
Jenn
Soooo darling Michelle Filo taggied me! LOL Before I do my answers, I have to shout out that this bracket album was SO MUCH FUN making! OMG! :) Seriously, you all have to do this one. And today's the last day to get it free with the kit at the shoppe! :)
Today was such a great morning! I've been walking Chayce to school. Matt is in the stroller and Josh rides his bike. Man this weather is amazing! We fished this weekend too! Didn't catch a thing but hopefully next weekend we'll get a bite or two. :)
Okay soooo, since it's a beautiful day, I am giving my Shabby Chic desk a paint bath outside. Remember this desk? MY favorite find so far in my lifetime. I love this desk. It has one coat on so far.
And I am painting the chair that goes with it too. This HUGE ornate frame that I have put off making into my bulletin board is now ready for fabric! So the board and seat cushion will be the same fabric.
Now which fabric to choose from! This will be the tough part. Tomorrow the Beth and Sasch and I are quilting our HB quilts again and having lunch. Fun! So I have to pick out something tomorrow at fabric chick's house. My lamp is now brown rust with a chocolate shade. Sooooooooooooooooo, which pattern to pick? This will be tough! Any ideas?

Well we are back in the sewing saddle again. Seriously we were all so busy we kinda took a winter break from it. Remember this post? Well, yesterday we went back at it. And are almost done! I think my major problem now was seeing TONS and TONS of new fabrics. This aqua red feral stuff killed me. Now I wanna do an easier quilt with it..will the obsession never end? :) I must admit that it is so nice to have a hobby where I am not staring at a screen all day. Truly so much fun! The girls and I had a blast. These quilts are going to be so cute when we are done and I think we are getting closer to finishing them. :) My sweet friend who sells most of the Heather Bailey fabric out there, I mean really her house is FULL of it, has now started blogging! K so if you want like awesome free fabric prizes and other fun stuff, bookmark her blog. :) She's going to have some fun stuff on it. :) Here's a few picks too! :)
Just had to quickly post about this awesome charity kit Hol brought together. The charity is for the ASPCA! This one is number 2! It was so much fun doing it last year too! But this one, well see for yourself, how Shabberiffic it is! Too cuute! :) Check out the site here. The proceeds go to the ASPCA to help abused and homeless animals. :) Here's my page I did...Love our kitty.
K had to share some quick tball pics from Saturday! I'm in heaven at how cute our little guy looks in his uniform. He just had the best time. I'm so glad. :) Have a great nite everyone!!!

As promised, I have a fabulous new freebie with CHALLENGE over at the shoppe! FUN! I love that the Shabby Girls enjoy hosting these..but I figured, "hey it's my turn". LOL So hop on over to the shoppe, download the sweet weedy freebie. Check out the blog challenge....and make a page. We'll give you a week or so and at the end, we'll be picking winners. TONS and TONS of SMJ Prizes to hand out! SO have fun with that one! :)
Okay have to say for the record, last night's Celebrity Apprentice was good. I was hoping the cowboy would win. Gosh just seeing the video of his dd was heartbreaking. But then the powerful Brit with his charity for Intrepid, well I was in tears let's say. Extremely moving. So I see it ended well in just that these awesome charities got so much support from the show. :) Just radical!
Hope you all have a fabulous weekend!

So the last few days, we've had girls softball practice for Chayce. She is just loving this sport. We missed last season for her but I can already tell she loves softball more than soccer. I think daddy loves that even more too. He grew up playing tons of different sports but always has played baseball, has coached little league teams and more. So he's stoked she's doing it again. I think her team name is something like saber tooth cats or so. Joshua starts tball on Saturday. His team has to do with rattle snakes. So cute. Anyways, it's been very busy around here the last few weeks with practice. And the boys love heading to the park to play while sissy practices. I keep laughing at Chris. See in this picture below, several of the dads got way more into helping and were themselves big kids. LOL Hilarious. I am curious...are any of your hubbies' way into their kid playing sports? Anyways, just a few pics to show off. And be sure to check back tomorrow. :)

Easter was so much fun! We did church Sat night. The kids totally loved it. Late Saturday night, the Easter bunnies were up late preparing the baskets. Wow just like another Christmas. SO on Easter Sunday, they all awoke, really early, begging us to start looking for hints that the Easter bunny came. We dragged ourselves out of bed and I barely managed to snap some pics. My eyes were just not open that early yet. :) So anyways, the kids found the first round of baskets that the Mommy and Daddy Easter bunny had left. Candy everywhere. And then for round too of finding the Easter baskets that the Grandma and Grandpa bunnies had left. Usually they do really cute baskets. This year, with little time to spare and all of us being so sick, I think the Grandma bunny headed to a huge superstore to find a basket that would do. I just love this! Hilarious. And after cellophane, green paper grass and jelly beans were scattered on the carpet, we decided to head out for Easter brunch. What a wild day to celebrate one of the most important holidays! It was truly a chaotic blessing. Here's a page I did of the kiddies coloring their eggs. So much fun and these little eggs really came to life with their cute faces. And here's a shot of Josh chowing down his chocolate bunny and of the funny yet fabulous supermarket over sized baskets. :) Hope your holiday was fully loaded with wonderful blessings! :) Will try to pop on here soon with a fun freebie or two! Credits for layout-green paper by Lauren Grier, flowers by Jen Wilson, Frames by Nancy Comelab, bracket by Amber Clegg, alpha by Gina Cabrera and other bits and pieces by me. :)
Cheers!

Are over at the shoppe today! :) Go take a peeky! :) Tons and tons of new goodies and new freebies!
So today was kinda a wild day! Picture tons and tons of small kiddies at our local park ready to egg hunt. Josh and Matt had a blast. We met up with some friends there too. And I had my camera in hand. K this is so funny. I got like 2 pics! LOL Seriously josh was scrambling everywhere, Matt was trying to find eggs that were miraculously disappearing quick. So I was scatter brained watching them all and making sure they didn't get all lost.
Anyways, here's a pic of the duck!
Have a fab day everyone! :)

Wow! That was about 2 weeks of being so sick! I've never been that sick in my whole life. Not even when I had the chix pox in high school. Turns out all five of us got that nasty Flu!!! The one that lasts a few weeks. It was so narley! Thankfully the doctor gave us antibiotics to help us all out. And even though I still sound like I'm a smoker (Lol..sooo not) I'm feeling much better. Whew!
Anyways, before we all got sick, we visited this awesome place in the middle of nowhere. My favorite place we visited when I was little. It's called 'cowboy town' by the kids. And a fun place to catch up on some history. Here's a few pics. If you kinda wonder why most of the alphas at the shoppe are westerny, then this might explain why. Have a super weekend!

Jenn

Happy Beautiful Springtime to all of you! I have something vintage and chic to share with you all! I was privileged to design this sweet kit with the awesome and oh so talented Dani Mogstead! K you have to go take a peeksy at Mel's blog. This girl is a Princess with Paper! I pretty much stare at all her blog posts in amazement because she really has this paper stuff down. Go check out her latest project. :) :)
I hope you all have a fabulous weekend! :)
Kisses,
Jenn
have hit our house and it's soo icky here. Gee first I got it Monday, the gnarly head cold where you feel like your head will explode at any second. And then just the dragging, rough, tigerish cough that hurts your entire body at every cough. First me, Mattie a tad, now Chayce and now Chris. I am praying Josh isn't getting it but I am hearing him start to cough a bit now. So we're all just lying around trying to get better. Gosh I thought I had a nice record going. I have not been this sick since I was preggy with Joshy. Oh well. I did get one thing done that was long overdue. I manged to group 120+ layouts that are UNPRINTED! Am sending those off to the lab to get printed. I am not letting myself get this far behind again. And I did order several albums here with hundreds of page protectors. Should be one fun day putting them all together. But at least they'll be done. And I played with this FABULOUS kit at Scrapartist. Once this hit my mailbox, I had to go get it. :) Hilarious pics of our kids being the goofiest after they decorated Valentine cookies. LOL The template is from Kissed Studio. :)
K off to rest..have something cool coming soon!
xoxoxox
jenn
your wild horses? I love U2. And seeing these wild horses cross the road made me think of this song. How cool is this?
I have loads of fun pics to share..hopefully this week. Not feeling too hot today! Maybe something sinusy going on. Hate that. But hope you are all having the grooviest of mondays!
xoxox
ON my bloggie...These are so fun to change up. Kinda like putting on an Spring Dress. Anyways, just wanted to share that there are TONS of new Spring goodies at the shoppe! If you are on the mailing list, you got something special. :) This Rolodex Album was so much fun! You can find these really inexpensive rolodex files at any office supply. I painted mine shabby chic pink and gave it an old vintage wash. Pretty fun. And with the sleeves, this turned out so cute. Little desktop album. And the treat bags. So much fun! I hope the kids teachers like these. You just take streamer paper and ruffle it up...tuck under the treat topper and staple. So kinda gives it that vintage shabby look. :)
K have a fab day! Be sure to check out Ruth's cute blog...was honored to be on there. :) Muah!
..I know this picture stinks! LOL It was a scan....I didn't have a digi camera when Chayce was this old. I know, bad bad! LOL But still, it's one of my favorites! :)
And I had to share one of my MOST favorite blogs to read! I just adore Melissa! She is sweeter than words. And makes the most darling paperie goods! Check her out here. :)
K back to work for me! Have a wonderful Tue! :)
Tball Sign Up for Josh-CHECK
Girls Softball Sign Up for Chayce-CHECK
I just love sports! I didn't get into them as much when I was little but I love to watch our kids learn and play them. Just so fun! Josh didn't like soccer this year like Chayce did. Didn't like all the running. LOL SO I think he is going to love tball! It's such a fun sport to learn..hitting the ball off the tee. I can't wait. I was one proud mommy standing in line Sat morning to sign him up. They had hoodie sweatshirts you could order too. So I ordered him one with his name on the back and then of course one for Daddy! I swear Chris is in heaven. ANYTHING that has to do with sports..he LOVES! And he loves his kiddies more than life so to hook them all up, help them, teach them, help coach their team---that's his love. It's so sweet too to see him so involved. So pretty soon we'll be driving them all over town to practice and play. On with spring! :)
This weekend was a blast! Chayce had a gc to her #1 favorite place! So we took her and let her go to town! She just loves creating new pets and dressing them and coming home with them. SO cool that Build a Bear now does interactive stuff with the pet you get online. So she came home and played with her new pup online. Just like webkinz. So cool. :) Here's some pics!
