I just had to post this. Operation Christmas Child. This is one of the most phenomenal things you can do with your child/children. We did this the past few years. You can see here. Anyways, this year was Matties' first year. I really thought our little guy wouldn't be able to go pick out toys and truly give them away. But he did great! We told him that before we go shopping for toys, etc, that these gifts are for a child somewhere in the world who may not have very much. We took all three to the store. They each got a plastic shopping basket. Then they began to go shop for their kids. We made sure to remind them that toothbrushes, socks, hair brushes were great too! Amazing! All three of our beautiful babes absolutely LOVED this! Yet again for Chayce and Josh but Mattie had the best time! Each of them went through the checkout so that all of their items stayed together in the same bag. We came home and wrapped our boxes...the top and bottom separately. Then each of them filled their boxes with the goodies they got. So much fun! I tell ya teaching a child about servant hood at such an early age is one of the best gifts you can give your child. Children are just naturally always thinking about themselves...as well they should. Children are innocent. But teaching them to care for someone they have never met but who has a need...truly awesome! Chris and my heart just sang with joy watching these little guys want to share their hearts through gifts! So there is still time if you want to do this. You can click here to find out how. :) K here's a fun pic of Chayce's little book project! :) Toodles for now!
now since we have the fireplace cooking a warm fire and are sometimes turning the heat on. The cozy feeling from autumn and the beginning of winter makes my heart sing! :) Hope you all had a great Halloween. Here's a few from our first part of halloween.:) Too much fun! We had way too much candy as usual trick or treating with all their friends in the neighborhood. :) And just one hour of treating and we had 4 huge bins full of candy. LOL Hopefully the dentist will clear us of all cavities since we brushed their teeth like 4 x's a day! LOL
Anyways, I peeked at Lanne's blog today..holy moly...how cute is this fabric? I have not sewn in forever but when I saw this...oh wow...this would totally go with our house..like maybe a cute pillow on a leather couch? Trimmed with corduroy? I will definitely have to think on this one...this would surely make a cute little skirt too! :) Good pick Lanne! :) Definitely love the warm mellow tones on this.
Okay back to getting things crossed off my list! :) Hope you are all having a beautiful weekend. :0
