a few things to share...

I have got a LOAD of pics to share today! :) So hold your horses..LOL First off, I have got to say that LANNE RULES! If you have not purchased her "BATCH" frame actions, you so have to! It's awesome and such a huge time saver!  She skyped me a lesson yesterday...love her Australian voice. And WOW! If you have a few, a TON of pictures to frame up, her actions rule for that! I took 20 pictures straight from the camera. I did this batch action and in seconds, the entire batch of pictures were sized down and had rounded corner frames on them. How awesome is that! So the action comes with this set and this set and their CU versions. AWESOME! I highly recommend them!

So here's some holiday pictures I "batched". :)



SO there is Santa! They just loved him so much this year! LOL This year we got the kids their own REAL tree for the family room. They got to decorate it with all their favorite ornaments and homemade ones too. They each have their own tree in their room too! LOL Chayce's is pin and the boys' is green.  There is the white shabby tree! I just can't seem to NOT put this one up every year. I can't wait to paint our walls sometime soon too! If we would have, this tree would have looked way better! LOL But still I (heart) it. :) Oh and does anyone else put garland stuff on their chandelier? LOL I thought that was a fun idea too! :)

Okay so here is the second part of this post! The AMAZING people at Daily Window contacted me about playing with some of their bags! Holy Cow! Awesome awesome site and PERFECT ideas for digi scrappers! So basically you digi scrap a sweet picture or layout to go inside the window! How kewl is this! Here is what I did and our kids LOVE these! :)

 

 

 

 

 

Aren't these just adorable or what? Perfect perfect gift for ANYONE! The bags I used were this, this and this.

Something that makes me feel good....

...is going to my parents 'barn' and hunting for some treasures. :) And this is one thing I saw and had to have. :) This darling cabinet. Is this just super cute? I love this one and love the coffee color with black knobs. :) And the best part...is that...my daddy built it. :) Anyways, I wanted to ask you all...hmmm...a question...What would you put underneath? Ie in the bottom part of the cabinet? Wire baskets? Dark brown wicker baskets? Locker boxes? Something else? I keep thinking..."What would look nice in there"? Of course this is in our new kitchen...so the top part might have china in it..not sure...but bottom part..ooh please help! :) I'd love some fun new ideas...of what to put in there. :) Ty girls!

Wow...long time no bloggie?

For real? Has it been that long? I think the last part of summer just wiped me out! Swim lessons, swimming, beach trips, soccer and more...and now school! :) Well I guess it's all good because it forces me to get up early...although I still end up going to bed way late...lol. Anyways, I hope all is well with all of you! I am more than thrilled you are loving LANNE's goodies in the shoppe! She truly rules and is so talented. :) Also so glad you all are rockin' your blogs with the shabby blog packs! All I can say is WOW and TY for emailing me all your links to your sweet lookin' blogs! :) Awesome! Okay so get ready for a LONG post here with loads of pics...but first I have to show you the kiddies' first day of school pics....I think Josh was too excited to look at the camera for me and smile..Oh well! :)

Okay so my mom brought over a ton of vintage patterns! And after looking high and lo for cute patterns, I love these. :) Especially if my mom and I can think of some different and cute ways to trim these. :) But I love the vintage style of these patterns! And Chayce asked me to make her this little pony!

So I had to race over to Beth's new shoppe and just drool at all her fabrics! :) I picked several 1/4's to make the pony, several yards of HB's new line and Sandi's Gingerblossom corduroy! :) Chayce is going to get a few new outfits from these. :) I have to say too that ALL this fabric is VERY HIGH QUALITY!  Seriously though, this is awesome fabric! What do ya think? I love it ALL! And when you see it online, of course it's amazing! BUT...when you see it in person...you become overwhelmed so badly because you just want all of it to sew, sew, sew projects...So I had to shut my sewing creative brain off just to figure out what to get first! :) Anyways, I can't wait for all the projects us girls will be doing again this fall/winter. :) FUN STUFF!!!! And then I have to take Chayce over there to pick out one of the new HB lines to make her quilt, pillows, bedding out of. :) I think they are all so pretty and when I'm done, we can paint Chayce's walls like soft lime green or something...I'm letting her pick all this out! :) Oh and isn't that apron too cute too? I think Beth has patterns for that and more. I know if you live near Sacramento area, you should drive over to her shoppe...she's going to have RADICAL classes...I mean she got me to quilt..I never quilted! LOL Amazing! But something you all will have to check out sometime. :)

 

Finally, it was SO MUCH FUN to be apart of this fabulous book again this year. :) I loved working with Katie and Tracy at Scrapbooks, Etc. :)  And it was a blast doing the cover scrap layout for it too! :) I just wanted to humbly toot this out! :) It's awesome and loaded with fabulous tutorials on how to digi scrap!

So there's the long post! :) LOL I better get some other stuff finished and get one little guy ready for soccer. :) Hope you all are doing fabulous as usual!

~~~SHABBY PINCUSHION FREEBIE~~

Sooooooooooooooo, a week or so ago, we all went to my fabric friend's (Beth, Liz, Betharoo, the Bethinator, Elizabeth, fabric chick-so many names for her-lol) house and up in her sewing room, I was inspired to make something! A pin cushion! A Blog FREEBIE pincushion! See when you are in a room amongst hundreds of bolts of beautiful fabric, you just can't just sit there and gab. I have to do something with my hands...LOL So if we aren't quilting or stitching something, we're making something else. So I made this fun little shabby pincushion! Now in order to get it, you have to GO POST A COMMENT on THIS BLOG POST!!! Not on mine...well if you want to leave feedback, I'd love it of course. The Shabby Grandma ROCKS this one!

Seriously..my mom has ALWAYS been an EXCELLENT seamstress...Me? I rush...I make mistakes and hide them. I'm just impatient. So I gave my mom this MOST ADORABLE Sandi Henderson fabric to whip out a cute top for Chayce. Of course my mom claims that sewing for her is so therapeutic.  That makes sense since the entire time I did this quilt, I was pretty relaxed. :) Anyways, I just have her 6 fat quarters of this Waterlilies fabric. And this is how it turned out..is this just too cute? :)

~~MY QUILT IS DONE~~

And wow it feels SO GREAT that it is finally done. :) What a long and FUN project. I'd say this was my very "1st REAL quilt". And I just love how it turned out. Here's all the pics...do you like it? :) We made these quits for our playdates in the park.  That is why we added the pockets..to insert crayon boxes, snacks, etc for the kids.  But I just totally look forward to every Tuesday when us girls get together and quilt. It almost sounds like we are old ladies. LOL But in a way I guess we are at heart. But quilting with this fabric makes it FRESh, fun and I think the creativity never ends. There are so many things you can add to any quilt that it makes your mind wander in inspiration. Does that make sense? I love what HB has on her blog... "And I'm spreading the word on how fulfilling and necessary creativity is to the human soul".  I think this is so true for most of us. We go to work, work from home, home school, drive kids all over town, cook dinners, clean the house and at the end of the day.....creating...anything...fulfills the soul. I look at this quilt and don't just see pieces of fabric stitched together. I see a nice sweet bond formed...between us girls...we all worked on these together...each had a part in it....it's pretty neat. I definitely would encourage any of you to get some girls together and do a quilt...and make sure you each finish it....so you all can say you started, worked and finished a big accomplishment together. See it's such an awesome hobby!!!!

I'm so excited to start the next one. :)

And just how cute are these bags? Beth has the patterns and will be up soon. But I am just dying at how cute they turned out!!!

 

Droooling....

I was telling Beth yesterday that since I'm kinda done with Shabby Chic, that changing up Chayce's room might be a fun project. And since she's almost 9, maybe a chic pink shabby baby room really isn't the thing for her. So I was thinking of making her a quilt....since the resources are 10 min from my house. LOL And was thinking of letting her choose what fabric to make it with...we're talking quilt, shams and a few decorative pillows...I don't know..maybe it might be too much..but maybe not..and maybe Chayce would LOVE a hip and chic new room. What do you all think? You all HAVE to go watch HB's slideshow...truly awesome stuff. :)

I can't wait to start working on this....the shabby quilt is almost done. Yeah! OH and check out this funky awesome vintage Mikasa plate I found...pretty wild eh? :)

Be back soon

~~I can't sew..~~

...And I never could...but I can now! :) Ty to my dear friend who is showing me things I never really knew.  Well my sweet mother tried to teach me how when I was younger but of course I was so impatient that it didn't really work out. But this quilt we're working on is turning out so cute. And now...I want to embellish the world out of it. So I am setting things around, made a dozen yo-yo's last night and am trying to figure out what else I want to do to mine. I definitely want to show off some stitching. But my huge desire to embellish this quilt is now turning into an obsession. The possibilities are endless and well it's just SO CUTE!



Today I had to stop and get more fabric from Beth. And she gave me this...for fixin' up her blog. SO CUTE! I don't even have a pin cushion.  But a cupcake one? Cute!  I don't even really have a sewing basket. Guess I'll be making one of those for myself soon. Anyways, isn't this adorable? She said it was a super easy and fun craft project. :)

Back in the Sewing Saddle Again...

Well we are back in the sewing saddle again. Seriously we were all so busy we kinda took a winter break from it. Remember this post?  Well, yesterday we went back at it. And are almost done! I think my major problem now was seeing TONS and TONS of new fabrics. This aqua red feral stuff killed me. Now I wanna do an easier quilt with it..will the obsession never end? :) I must admit that it is so nice to have a hobby where I am not staring at a screen all day. Truly so much fun! The girls and I had a blast. These quilts are going to be so cute when we are done and I think we are getting closer to finishing them. :) My sweet friend who sells most of the Heather Bailey fabric out there, I mean really her house is FULL of it, has now started blogging! K so if you want like awesome free fabric prizes and other fun stuff, bookmark her blog. :) She's going to have some fun stuff on it. :) Here's a few picks too! :)
